#UFCGlasgow Results: Leslie Smith TKOs Amanda Lemos in the second round

To open the early UFC Fight Pass prelims in Glasgow, veteran Leslie Smith took on UFC newcomer Amanda Lemos in a thrilling bantamweight match-up.

Lemos landed heavy shots and swift low kicks throughout the first and second round, but the volume striking and aggressive output of Smith proved to be too much. Smith pressured Lemos against the cage in the second round and unloaded a variety of combinations until the referee stepped in.

Leslie Smith def. Amanda Lemos via second round TKO.

JoJo Calderwood: “You’re in for a hell of a night in Glasgow”

Arguably Joanne Calderwood’s (11-2)  best performance in the UFC was at Fight Night 89 in Ontario, Canada when she TKO’d Valerie Letourneau in round three of what was the first ever UFC women’s flyweight bout. Unfortunately, for a while after that fight the UFC showed little to no interest in developing the women’s 125 division. Months later, and just days after JoJo signed a bout agreement against Cynthia Calvillo in Calderwood’s homeland of Scotland, the UFC announced that season 26 of TUF would introduce the flyweight division. Check out Calderwood’s comments below about her upcoming opponent Cynthia Calvillo, what it means to fight in her hometown, and how she’s “gutted” she initially missed a chance to fight at flyweight next instead.
