Carla Esparza and Randa Markos had an ongoing feud on The Ultimate Fighter 20. Now, years later, the two will finally fight.
Esparza, the former UFC women’s strawweight champion, will take on Markos at UFC Fight Night 105 on February 19th in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the UFC announced Tuesday.
Esparza (11-3 is also a former Invicta champion. She beat Rose Namajunas to win TUF 20 and become the first ever UFC women’s 115-pound champion back in December 2015. She lost the title to Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 185 in March 2015 and needed shoulder surgery afterwards. Esparza, 29, came back from injury to rebound and defeat Juliana Lima by unanimous decision at UFC 197 in April.
Markos (6-4) is coming off a first-round submission loss to Cortney Casey at UFC 202 in August. The Iraq native and Canada resident has a mix of wins and losses in her UFC career. Markos, 31, owns wins over Aisling Daly and Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger.
UFC Fight Night 105 takes place on February 19, 2017 from the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
