This weekend’s featured women’s MMA fight sees England’s Molly “Meatball” McCann take on Invicta FC veteran Lacey “The Ladie” Schuckman in a match contested in the 125lb flyweight division.
The fight will be aired live on UFC Fight Pass and showcases a fight in a division which the UFC currently does not have. The UFC currently has a 115, 135 and 145lb division, filling in the gap with a 125lb seems inevitable, the winner of this fight could put themselves in position for a shot at the roster, when that day finally comes.
Schuckman (11-9-0) is currently signed to premier women’s mixed martial arts organization, Invicta FC. She has been given special permission by the organization to compete for Cage Warriors. The 28-year-old who fights out of Denver, Colorado is currently 2-2 in her last four fights. She holds notable first round finishes over Jenny Liou, Melissa Myers and Jody-Lynn Reicher. She usually competes in the 115-pound strawweight division, but believes that cutting less weight will lead to an even better version of herself. As well as MMA, she has enjoyed great success in submission grappling competitions.
Schuckman is a known finisher, finishing eight of her career victories. Back in April 2014 she took on Melissa Myers and absolutely dominated the fight, finishing her in just 1:35 of the very first round via a choke. “fighttowinmma” have made the fight available in it’s entirety via their YouTube channel. Lacey Schuckman takes on Molly McCann this Saturday at Cage Warriors 82, airing live on UFC Fight Pass. The event takes place from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England.
