A women’s atomweight bout will feature on the Combate Americas 17 event this Friday when Brenda Enriquez takes on Shyann Farmer. Both women will be making their professional MMA debuts following successful amateur careers.
Enriquez has picked up an impressive 7-1-0 record as an amateur, five victories of which came inside the first round by way of knockouts and submissions. The 28-year-old fights out of Salt Lake City, Utah and has been competing in martial arts since 2013. Also known as “Little Hands of Stone”, Enriquez will be looking to make a statement in her professional debut this Friday and show the world why she is the one to watch at 105-pounds.
Shyann Farmer has earned a 4-1-0 record in amateur MMA competition, with her sole loss coming to Kenia Rosas by way of a close split decision. The 24-year-old who fights out of Alamogordo, New Mexico, has been competing as a strawweight for the duration of her amateur career, however she feels atomweight is her true weight-class and looks to showcase that on Friday.
“Combate 17: El Grito En La Jaula” takes place this Friday September 15 from the Splash Kingdom Waterpark in Redlands, California, United States. The event will be aired live on Azteca America, ESPN Latin America and the ESPN App.
