It looks like a high-stake, high-profile bantamweight clash between Cat Zingano and Ketlen Vieira is in the works for UFC 222 in Las Vegas on March 3.
Moments ago, The MMA Kings (Twitter: @mma_kings) followed up an initial report by Tom Taylor (Twitter: @TomTayMMA) that former bantamweight title challenger Cat Zingano will return in March against surging Brazilian contender Ketlen Vieira.
Ketlen “Fenomeno” Vieira last fought in September at UFC 215, submitting Sara McMann in the second round via arm triangle. The 26-year-old signed with the UFC when she was 6-0. Since signing, she has kept her undefeated record intact with wins over Kelly Fasholz, Ashlee Evans-Smith and Sara McMann.
“Alpha” Cat Zingano last fought at UFC 200 in July of 2016, losing a decision to Julianna Pena. Zingano. who announced a few days ago via Twitter that she had an opponent and date set, will look to work back into title contention. Cat is the last woman to defeat Nunes– TKOing the champ in the third round in a 2014 title eliminator bout. Of her nine career victories, eight are finishes.
