A women’s boxing rematch between Heather Hardy and Shelly Vincent has officially been announced and is set to take place on October 27.
Hardy was victorious when the pair first fought in 2016, defending her WBC international welterweight title and earning herself the majority decision victory in a fight which was highly praised by critics, media and fans. This time the pair will battle for the vacant WBO featherweight title.
Hardy (21-0, Pro Boxing) is yet to be defeated in the sport of professional boxing, and in her most recent showing this past April, she defeated Iranda Paola Torres via unanimous decision. “The Heat” is also known for being an MMA fighter as part of Bellator’s flyweight division, with a 2-1-0 record, including a third-round knockout over Alice Yauger.
Vincent (23-1, Pro Boxing) believes the judges got the decision completely wrong the first time around and now sets out to avenge the only loss in her combat sports career to date. The 39-year-old has put herself on a four-fight win streak since her initial showing against Hardy.
Hardy vs. Vincent for the WBO featherweight title takes place on October 27 from the Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, United States.
