BOXING: Claressa Shields defeats Ivana Habazin, makes history

Last night at the Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, Claressa Shields remained unbeaten when she defeated Ivana Habazin via unanimous decision to win her third world title.

Shields won the bout on the score cards– 100-89, 100-90, 99-89. In doing so, she made boxing history by being the fighter, male or female, with the fewest number of fights to become a three-weight world champion. It only took Shields 10 fights to win three titles– Vasiliy Lomachenko and Kosei Tanaka previously held the record with 12 fights.
