An exciting bantamweight bout is in the works for UFC 227 on August 4th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
Per MMA Brasil via Twitter (@mmabrasil), Bethe Correia is slated to return to action versus Mexican prospect Irene Aldana.
Correia has been out of action since June 2017, having undergone surgery following her main event knockout loss to Holly Holm. Prior to that, the controversial Brazilian fought to a draw with Marion Reneau in March and defeated Jessica Eye in 2016. The former title challenger has been a staple in the top fifteen.
After dropping a tough decision loss to Leslie Smith and a close split-decision loss to Katlyn Chookagian in her first two UFC appearances, Aldana picked up her first promotional win in January with a dominant performance over Talita Bernardo. Irene was a former Invicta title challenger and standout before signing with the UFC in 2016.
Who will you be rooting for?
