First reported by Nicole Bosco (@NikBos) via Twitter, a flyweight title match has been added to Bellator 201 at the Pechanga Resort Casino on June 29 in Temecula, Calif.
Inaugural Bellator flyweight champ Ilima-Lei Macfarlane (7-0) is scheduled to make the first title since claiming the title at Bellator 186 in November. The unbeaten Hawaiin fighter, who made her promotional debut in 2015, has become a face of the Bellator flyweight division.
Opposite Macfarlane will be Colombian standout Alejandra “Azul” Lara (7-1). Lara made a successful Bellator debut in December, submitting Lena Ovchynnikova via third round rear-naked choke. The sole loss of Lara’s career is a decision to fellow flyweight prospect Sabina Mazo. “Azul” holds a balanced record of three submission wins, three KO/TKO wins, and one decision win.
