#Bellator190 weigh-in results: Lena Ovchynnikova vs Alejandra Lara is made official

Saturday night at the Nelson Mandela Forum in Florence, Italy, Bellator flyweight standout Lena Ovchynnikova (12-4, 1 NC) will look to continue her rise to the top of the division as she takes on promotional newcomer Alejandra Lara (6-1). Earlier today, both fighters made weight to make the fight official.

  • Lena Ovchynnikova (124.4) vs Alejandra Lara (125)

Ovchynnikova is currently riding a two-fight win streak. Her last outing was an impressive TKO in April over Helen Harper. This will be Lena’s fourth fight with Bellator. Popular as a striker, ‘Hunter” has shown killer instincts on the ground with eight of her twelve career wins coming by way of submission.

Opposite Ovchynnikova, Alejandra Lara of Colombia will look to make a statement in her Bellator debut. With three of her career wins coming by KO/TKO stoppage and two by submission, “Azul” will look to extend her two-fight win streak to three since her sole career loss against Sabina Mazo.

  1. I thought Lena Ovchynnikova was fighting Mary Rouse Mejia, which I thought was strange considering she has only one professional MMA fight. So fighting Alejandra Lara is a much more suitable opponent for someone who has 16 professional MMA fights.
