Bellator 238 tonight: Who’s Fighting and How To Watch

‘Bellator 238: Budd vs. Cyborg’ takes place this Saturday January 25, 2020, from The Forum in Inglewood, California, United States.

Two exciting female bouts feature on the main card, including a highly-anticipated headlining women’s featherweight title fight.

Here’s a rundown of the two fights coming up on Bellator this week.

Featherweight title, Julia Budd vs. Cris Cyborg

Main Card – 10pm EST, airing live on DAZN

Budd (13-2-0) will look to make the fourth defense of her 145-pound belt against the promotional newcomer in Cyborg (21-2-0).

Also known as ‘The Jewel’, Budd won the Bellator featherweight title in March 2017, defeating Marloes Coenen by way of a fourth-round ground-and-pound TKO. She has since gone on to successfully defend the belt against Arlene Blencowe, Talita Nogueira and Olga Rubin, finishing the latter two by way of knockouts. Budd hasn’t lost a fight in nearly a decade, with her only two career losses coming to Amanda Nunes and Ronda Rousey.

Cyborg will be making her first appearance for Bellator MMA after walking out of the UFC last year. The 34-year-old is one of the most decorated female fighters of all time, having competed as a professional since the year 2005 and successfully winning the UFC, Strikeforce and Invicta FC featherweight titles. The Brazilian owns notable wins over the likes of Holly Holm, Gina Carano, Marloes Coenen, Felicia Spencer and many more.

The fight between Budd and Cyborg is a hugely important one in the women’s 145-pound division and will determine the number-one active women’s featherweight fighter in the world. Both women are true featherweights who have been competing within the weight-class for the entirety of their professional careers.

Strawweight bout, Ava Knight vs. Emilee Gettys

Main Card – 10pm EST, airing live on DAZN

Boxing superstar Ava Knight looks to go 2-0 in MMA on Saturday.

The ‘Lady of Boxing’ Ava Knight (1-0-0) makes her second professional MMA appearance after a successful promotional and professional debut at the Bellator 228 event last October in which she picked up the second-round knockout win over Shannon Goughary.

Gettys (3-3-0) makes her first appearance for Bellator after picking up a three-fight win streak with the Valor Fighting Challenge promotion, including two submission wins.
