Bellator 229 results: Keri Melendez defeats Mandy Polk via unanimous decision

Friday night at the Bellator 229 event, Keri Melendez picked up a unanimous decision win over Mandy Polk (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

Melendez remains undefeated, improving her record to 4-0-0. Meanwhile, Polk drops to 6-5-0.

Bellator 229 took place on Friday October 4th from the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California, United States. The main card featuring Melendez vs. Polk was aired live on Paramount Network from 9pm EST.

  1. Mandy Polk 3 fight winning streak consisted of beating opponents who were 0-2, 0-3, and 0-5. She looked really lost in that cage. She would not let her hands go to throw a punch, she wasn’t throwing kicks in the stand up game and she was throwing punches or elbows on the ground. For a fighter going into her 11th professional MMA fight, I was expecting a whole lot more fluidity in her MMA skill set than she showed. Hopefully, she gets back in the gym and work on throwing her hands and letting herself go in the cage.
