Bellator 224 weigh-in results: One fighter misses weight

Tomorrow night in Thackerville, Okla., the Bellator featherweight title will be on the line.

In the main event, Julia Budd (12-2) looks to defend her women’s featherweight championship versus unbeaten challenger Olga Rubin (6-0).

On the main card, Kristina Williams (3-1) faces undefeated Brazilian contender Juliana Velasquez (8-0) in a flyweight bout with potential title implications.

Featherweight and flyweight action will also highlight the prelim card– UFC veteran Leslie Smith (10-7-1) makes her return to Bellator and the featherweight division against Ireland’s Sinead Kavanagh (5-3).

In flyweight action, Brazil’s Bruna Ellen (4-2) will look to bounce back from a decision loss to Kristina Williams when she takes on Elina Kallionidou in her return to the promotion.

Former Bellator title challenger Arlene Blencowe also returns to action (11-7) when she faces Amanda Bell (6-5).

*Sinead Kavanagh missed the featherweight limit by 1.7 pounds and will be fined a percentage of her purse.

  1. Gee, Leslie can’t seem to catch a break with opponents missing weight. I’m glad she didn’t play games this time around and took the fight and the fine. I assume Bellator passes on the fine to the opponent. Anyone know what it was?

    Pretty pathetic when 5’6″ Sinead can’t even make 145. She’s short for a BW and not exactly ripped. I hope she had a good excuse. Having loss 3 out of her last 4 fights, If she lost this one, I’d be handing her her walking papers.
