This Saturday’s UFC 229 event features a bantamweight showdown on the preliminary card when Aspen Ladd returns to take on Tonya Evinger.

Ladd (6-0-0) returns to competition following a successful promotional debut in October 2017, earning the second-round TKO win over Lina Lansberg. The undefeated 23-year-old is a highly-touted prospect who was dominating the competition in Invicta FC before coming over to the UFC. She owns notable victories over Sijara Eubanks and Amanda Cooper. Ladd is currently ranked at number-nine in the UFC rankings and number-seven in the WMMA World Rankings.

Evinger (19-7-0, 1 NC) also makes her second promotional appearance following an unsuccessful attempt at challenging Cris Cyborg for the featherweight title in July 2017. The 37-year-old now returns to competing at 135-pounds, a weight-class in which she enjoyed huge success at Invicta FC and was considered the most decorated champion in the organization’s history. Her list of wins includes finishes over the likes of Irene Aldana Aldana, Cindy Dandois, Pannie Kianzad, Yana Kunitskaya and Ediane Gomes.
UFC 229 takes place this Saturday October 6 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The preliminary card featuring Ladd vs. Evinger will be aired live on Fox Sports 1 from 8pm EST.
tonya is probably still damaged from the cyborg fight, so we’ll see probably slower reflexes from her, and she’ll have to use all her technique to beat off the younger girl
Still “damaged” from a fight in July of last year? C’mon now, nothing *that* serious happened to her in there… 🙁
