Ashley Cummins on the importance of putting on exciting fights for fans and not just doing ‘the bare minimum to win’

Popular Invicta FC atomweight, Ashley Cummins, recently opened up about about the importance of putting on exciting fights for the fans and not just doing the bare minimum to win.

Cummins is the number-eight ranked atomweight fighter in the world.

Speaking on her social media pages, Cummins (5-4-0) discussed her recent performances inside the octagon, as well as hitting out at fighters who try to “lay and pray”.

I can’t guarantee a victory every time I step in the cage, but I can promise to always be an exciting fighter. My last 4 professional fights I constantly went for the finish and had several submission attempts” Cummins said.

“I will never be a boring fighter and do the bare minimum to win and just “lay and pray.” The fans want to see a fight and that’s what I deliver” she continued.

Cummins, also known as ‘Smashley’, is the number-eight ranked atomweight fighter in the world, according to the WMMA world rankings. The 30-year-old made her 105-pound debut this past March, dominating a former title challenger in Amber Brown to a unanimous decision. She followed up in July, putting on an exciting battle against number-two ranked atomweight, Jinh Yu Frey.

Cummins does not currently have an MMA fight scheduled, however she is set to compete in a professional wrestling bout for Dynamo Pro Wrestling on November 11. The organization has partnered with the Fighting for Autism charity to produce a special fundraiser event featuring several of MMA’s biggest stars making their professional wrestling debuts. Cummins will be teaming up with Kelly D’Angelo as a tag team to take on a pair of pro-wrestling veterans, the names of which have yet to be announced.
