Antonina Shevchenko vs. Valerie Domergue set for ‘Phoenix 4: Dubai’ on December 22

A women’s bantamweight fight between Antonina Shevchenko and Valerie Domergue has been set for the ‘Phoenix 4: Dubai’ event on December 22.

Antonina Shevchenko (2-0) is the older sister of popular UFC contender, Valentina Shevchenko. She made a successful return to the cage this past September, taking out Hyun Sung Kim via unanimous decision. Also known as “The Panther”, Shevchenko has a wealth of experience in Muay-Thai and is a multiple time world champion in the sport. With Valentina recently announcing her move down to the 125-pound division in the hopes of becoming a UFC world champion, the physically bigger Antonina hopes to eventually do the same as part of the 135-pound bantamweight division. Both sisters are highly disciplined fighters and feel as though they are the best in the world in their respective weight-classes.

Domergue (4-2) fights out of the MMA Factory in France. The 32-year-old is on a three-fight winning streak, all by way of decisions. She’ll be looking to make a statement in December against one of the most highly touted prospects in the division.

‘Phoenix 4: Dubai’ takes place on December 22 from the Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The event will be aired live on FITE.tv.
