This Friday at Legacy Fighting Alliance 23, Andrea Lee will attempt to make the first defense of her flyweight title when she takes on Jamie Thorton.
Lee (7-2-0), also known as “KGB”, is currently on a three-fight win streak and has won five of her last six. She won the LFA flyweight title back in February after submitting Heather Bassett in the third round by way of an armbar. The 28-year-old is a known finisher with two knockout wins and three submission wins to her record. The Karate Mafia standout is considered one of the fan-favourites of the division and is currently the number seven ranked 125-pound flyweight contender in the world, according to the women’s MMA world rankings.
Thorton (4-3-0), also known as “Pretty Assassin”, will be looking to make a statement by taking out one of the division’s top contenders. The 33-year-old has finished all her career victories inside the first round via submissions and knockouts, more recently she took out Bellator MMA contender Jaymee Nievara by way of a Guillotine Choke.
