Andrea Lee releases lengthy statement on controversial UFC 247 loss, reveals Joe Rogan told her he believes she won

Andrea Lee has issued a lengthy statement after losing out to Lauren Murphy via split decision at Saturday’s UFC 247 event.

Lee lost a controversial split decision to Lauren Murphy at UFC 247.

Lee (11-4-0) lost out on the judges scorecards at UFC 247. One judge scored the bout 29-28 in her favor, whilst the other two scored it 29-28 and 30-27 for Murphy. The verdict has been met with a huge amount of backlash on social media.

‘KGB’ took to her Instagram page to release a statement following the upset loss.

Didn’t get the win tonight, but I put on one hell of a performance and Joe Rogan told me he thought I won among many others, but hey that’s what happens when it’s left in the judges hands. She got a take down at the end of every round and we know take downs score high in the eyes of the judges, doesn’t matter if they don’t do much with it or if you get back up quickly, it scores.” Lee said.

So my hats off to Lauren, congratulations, it was a great fight and I had a lot of fun and I’m sure we will fight again. Thank you to my corner and my team for all the hard work, I appreciate each and every one of you! I love you guys!” she continued.

‘UFC 247: Jones vs. Reyes’ took place on Saturday February 08, 2020, from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, United States. The preliminary card featuring Murphy vs. Lee was aired live on ESPN from 8pm EST.

  1. Andrea should have won. The judging was just bad and I don’t think it was take-downs. Latifi got 4 takedowns and really worked three of them, out-struck Lewis in every round and still lost to the judges. Impeach the lot of them!
