Earlier this year, strawweight prospect Amanda Ribas (6-1) was signed by the UFC and scheduled to face Juliana Lima (9-3) at The Ultimate Fighter 25 season finale on July 7th. That fight will no longer be happening as Ribas has been pulled from the card due to failing an out-of-competition drug test collected on June 7th.
At 23-years-old Brazil’s Ribas is young in her MMA career. She has won six of her seven total fights, finishing five of them. Ribas trains out of American Top Team.
Details about the failed test and Ribas’ jurisdiction are unclear at the moment.
The UFC is currently “seeking a replacement” for Ribas to face Juliana Lima next month.
