Amanda Nunes reveals her doctor has “finally resolved” her sinusitis issues

UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes has thanked her doctor for helping to clear up the issue with sinusitis.

Last month, Nunes (14-4) was forced to withdraw from her UFC 214 main event fight against Valentina Shevchenko due to a bad case of sinusitis. The fight has been rebooked for the UFC 215 event on September 9. Leading into the fight, it appears her longtime issues with Sinusitis have finally been cleared.

Thank you guys so much for helping to finally resolve this issue! Dr. Agustin Arrieta, @janetg1215@alram_07and Acclarent for all your help. I truly appreciate it!” Nunes wrote on her Instagram page. The original post can be seen below.

‘The Lioness’ won the UFC bantamweight title in the main event of the UFC 200 event in July 2016. She defended her belt for the first time in December of the same year, knocking out Ronda Rousey in the very first round. She will attempt to make her second title defense in September, against a woman she has already beaten in Valentina Shevchenko.

UFC 215 takes place on September 9 from the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The event will be aired live on pay-per-view.

  1. Since most cases of sinusitis are easily treatable, oftentimes with minimally intrusive surgery, and given how long she claims to have been affected by it, I’m just stunned as to why she didn’t have it done earlier, if indeed she did have it done at all. I am rather surprised that the article doesn’t address how she “resolved” it.
