Amanda Nunes attempts to make the third successful defense of her bantamweight title when she battles Raquel Pennington in the main event of this Saturday’s UFC 224 pay-per-view.
Ahead of Saturday’s big event, Nunes (15-4) spoke to MMAJunkie about the fight against her ATT teammate.
“Here we go, and now we step into the cage and do our work, and after we can be friends again,” Nunes told MMAjunkie
“All the game plans she has in her mind, I know,” Nunes continued. “Because I’ve been there before. I was a challenger. I was the underdog. I fought with somebody I had to pressure to get the fight done.
Ultimately, the “Lioness” believes she has the major experience edge over Pennington and is more confident than ever she will be victorious.
“I know how to read my opponent. I know how to adjust my game inside the cage, and I know how to break somebody mentally.” she said. “I know she’s going to step into the cage and she’s going to pressure me, all my opponents look at my fights and want to pressure me. She’s going to try to exhaust me. But nothing’s going to change the result.”
UFC 224 takes place on May 12 from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event will be aired live on pay-per-view.
