Invicta FC has announced an exciting new addition to their athlete development program— reigning UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes.
Invicta FC broke the news on Thursday through a press release. Invicta FC president Shannon Knapp commented, “I’ve known and worked with Amanda for a long time, going all the way back to our Strikeforce days. She was already part of the Invicta family, but now it’s official; now it’s on paper.”
”I can’t think of a better ambassador for the sport and our organization.”
The responsibilities of “The Lioness’” new role will include but are not limited to “assisting with the matchmaking process,” “identifying champions of tomorrow,” and “specifically scouting talent in Brazil and the southeastern United States.”
Invicta states that Nunes’ appointment to her position is effective immediately— she will be “front and center tomorrow,” overseeing the Invicta FC 27 weigh-ins and faceoffs.
