An exciting women’s strawweight fight will headline the early preliminary portion of this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 121 event when Alex Chambers returns from an over two-year layoff to take on promotional newcomer, Nadia Kassem.
Chambers (5-3-0) was last seen in action at the UFC 191 pay-per-view event in September 2015, when she suffered a third-round submission loss to Paige VanZant. Prior to the loss, Chambers picked up an impressive third-round submission of her own, over Hawaii’s Kailin Curran. The 39-year-old from Sydney, Australia, has been working on her MMA game nonstop and believes the fans will see a completely different fighter on Saturday.
Kassem (4-0-0) will be making her promotional debut, following an undefeated run in the Australian independant scene in which she has finished all her fights in the very first round by way of knockouts. The 21-year-old, who currently trains out of Australian Top Team, believes she is the best strawweight fighter on the planet and is looking to prove it in a devastating way on Saturday. Kassem will no doubt be facing her toughest opponent to date in Chambers, considering the fact that all of her previous opponents have yet to gain a victory in the sport of MMA.
UFC Fight Night 121 takes place this Saturday November 18 from the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The early preliminary portion of the card featuring Chambers VS Kassem will air live on UFC Fight Pass from 6:30pm EST.
