Wednesday night at the Alaska FC 136 event Holli Salazar defeated Maura Tynanes via second-round TKO.
Salazar improves her record to 1-0, making a successful professional MMA debut. Prior to tonight’s fight, she had enjoyed a successful amateur run in which she’s coming off an impressive 40-second submission win over Camee Adams. The 26-year-old fights out of Colorado and currently trains at the Golden Fights Cage Wars MMA.
Tynanes drops to 1-1, following a successful pro debut last March when she choked out Avril Straub in the very first-round. Prior to making the move to MMA, Tynanes, who was undefeated as an amateur, already had a background in combat sports, being a former collegiate/freestyle wrestler who placed second at nationals during her first year in college, she is also a black belt division naga championship winner. She trains at the Jesus is Lord gym in Hawaii, along with UFC star, Rachael Ostovich.
Alaska Fighting Championship 136 took place January 17 from the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage, Alaska. The entire event was aired live on UFC Fight Pass from 11:59pm EST.
