Agnieszka Niedzwiedz on Invicta FC 23 main event: “There will be a lot of blood”

Ahead of her Invicta FC 23 fight against Brazilian veteran Vanessa Porto, rising flyweight contender Agnieszka Niedzwiedz recently spoke to BloodyElbow.

Niedzwiedz, 9-0, will look to score her tenth consecutive win on Saturday. She last fought at Ladies Fight Night 4, defeating Samara Santos by way of a third round TKO. The Polish standout has yet to taste defeat in her professional MMA career.

The 22-year-old, also known as “Kuma”, spoke about her joy of receiving the offer to headline against Porto.

“I feel really really good about this, I am very happy! It’s a really great fight because Vanessa Porto is a really good fighter, and number two in the world, so I’m really happy that I have a chance to fight with her in Invicta. I think that I can beat her in every second of the fight and I think that I win this fight with no problem.”

She reveals her gameplan for the fight, as well as revealing this is what she likes to do in every fight.

I want to get my opponent on the ground as fast as possible and I want to finish the fight with my elbows, This is my game-plan for every fight. I don’t know how it happened. I just have it in my fighting style. So, with my team, we started training my elbows more and it’s a really dangerous weapon. Elbows are really devastating, so I think that’s why I like them so much.

She is not focused on the UFC’s recent revelation that they will be adding a flyweight division, she is solely focused on her opponent.

I don’t think about this right now, because I am focused on my fight with Porto, After this fight we’ll be thinking about what we will be doing, with the UFC and with this 125lb division, but right now I am just focused on my fight in Invicta.

Finally, “Kuma” reveals she is hoping for a bloody battle against Porto on Saturday.

I hope there will be a lot of blood. It’s going to be a real fight because Vanessa is a really good fighter. So, I think it will be really fun to watch. It’s going to be a real war.

Invicta FC 23 takes place this Saturday May 20th from the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. The event will be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
